i seriously enjoyed this fic! the pacing was perfect for the slow, painful build up of the relationship between the main three, and the resolution didn't feel rushed. i actually felt really good at the end of the story, which is not at all what i'm used to feeling when i read anything having to do with incest. i feel that the author did a good job portraying the taboo and all of the complicated feelings between jaejoong, boa and yoona. i am not familiar with any of these idols but the characterization felt rich and believable all around.
the only points of criticism i have are about the writing itself. the author should work on sentence variety as a lot of the sentences relied on a good number of commas and were often structured similarly. i think cutting down a few of the long, almost run-on sentences could have produced some short, simple sentences that had a stronger impact.

i was going to ask if anyone has ever gone through the infinite fics on aff to pull out the gems, but then i noticed that there are almost 25,000 fics in the infinite tag, jfc. how is that even possible?
tbh I just look through the pairing tags, it's still pretty ridiculous but easier to manage. most of the ones that I like are cross posted on lj tho

very sweet! a little on the predictable side, but it's enjoyable nonetheless. the writing is very good, the author paces the story well (i was worried when i saw 5200w, but none of it felt unnecessary). the way the author brings in other members doesn't feel forced. they actually play roles in the story. my only point of criticism would be the title because i don't think the song does the story justice.
anons thoughts on formatting of fics on lj? i just tried to read a fic on lj where the text is literally 4 words per line it's squished together into what looks like a newspaper column.
i'm all for center spacing and neat blocks of text in a smaller size than what it looks like if you don't use any html codes in your post but...4 words per line u__u i can't even style=mine for this ;;

I think the table at somewhere between 50-75% looks nice personally. I don't like to change fonts and such but if someone does it doesn't bother me as long as it's easy to read.
...but yeah idk why people do that little thin tiny column of text unless it's like a 100 w fic. and even then. there is no better way to make me backspace faster

jfc i don't even stan btob and this just blew me away. the relationship, the characterisation, the pacing, and flow. i'm just in love with how the author wrote both illhoon's and hyunsik's flaws. it's honestly hard to come by in kpop ffs.

i expected something to happen when illhoon mentioned that fortune teller because it was such an interesting, albeit mordbid, detail that just stuck with me. although i'm glad that nothing really happened, it felt a little out of place, ya naw wha i mean?

but other than that, it's really well-written and i never expected myself to spend so much time just reading and absorbing the fic.

i am actually dreading any of meme talking about/mentioning my ficmix whenever it comes up. i know exactly what's wrong with it, but there isn't much i can do now ;;
try not to look at the thread when your ficmix is posted? i think crit is great, although i can see why it can be unwelcome in some cases.

one thing i liked about this remix was that the remixer added the roman numerals to help the reader figure out non-chronological order of the scenes. at first i found the order strange and jarring, but as i read on i got used to it and really enjoyed it. i like how this story expanded on the original, fleshed out the emotions and really drove the original feelings home. the repeated use of the state of the roses as a symbol of the state of their relationship felt a bit heavy-handed. using it less would have had more of an impact, in my opinion.

im a really unprepared writer, i never plan anything and when i do i just lose the motivation to write, i write as it comes to me but then i skip ahead to parts and get bored filling in what's leading up to it.

well this seems hard bc you say if you loose motivation when you plan so loose planning scenes to write when you go back to fill in prob would be hard for you. maybe you should try challenging yourself to write something short and sweet from start to finish without skipping ahead first
or maybe try writing a series of short connected scenes that are chronological in time frame but aren't necessarily related..if that makes any sense

i actually took part in ficmix, so one of these days my own fic will pop up and i'm not sure what to do about it. would anyone mind if i just said, "this one's mine, anyone feel free to crit" when that happens? i'd rather not fake crit myself just for the sake of anonymity.

this is another case of awkward writing, but it's not bad enough to detract from the story. it just wasn't the smoothest, and some of the word choice was a bit confusing. wanton noodles made me chuckle but it was a very minor mistake. I have a strange sense of humor. in the second half of the first part there's a random section where the author switched to present tense and i don't get that decision at all.
in general i'm not a fan of stalker-turned-friend/lover stories. kai just plain seems like an ass in this and i don't get at all why do is into him beyond his looks, which seems like such a shallow reason considering he's already in a relationship. and then kai is doing drugs? and suho planned for them to get together? and then kai fucking kills himself? the story took such a strange turn in the second part.

i honestly didn't expect much from this based solely on the fact that it was written in second person. HOWEVER, once i worked my way through it and figured out the premise, i was pretty damn impressed. the author's note isn't lying when it says the author took risks, and i think the story turned out really well. some might not appreciate this, but i think it's interesting to compare this fic to #3, another experimental fic which, in my opinion, did not pull off its risks so successfully. in #3 i described the points of experimentation as jarring and distracting, but in this fic i'd say the risks were only jarring at the very beginning. the story takes a couple read-throughs to completely understand, and perhaps that confusion could have been cleared up by choosing a third person pov so you understood more quickly that the subject of each part was a different person (mir first, then thunder, then joon, then g.o and lastly seungho). but this is a fic i would agree is worth the read because it took risks and pulled it off.

a cute story! the build up to revealing what kai's phobia was worked fairly well, and i enjoyed the final scene of kai and suho together. this story could have used more showing rather than telling when it came to the phobia itself. phobias tend to have very physical reactions as well as mental, and some descriptive detail of that would have been nice. the author seemed to be going for something humorous in how they built up to the reveal of the phobia, but it felt forced and unnatural. all in all, though, pretty cute.

what did the dashidorawa mods even do? i've seen complaints that they kept the shame list of droupouts up too long after the bigbang, but that's it.
they pretty much forgot about posting fics + reveals in the middle of the big bang. i don't remember exactly when it was but they just... stopped posting and then weeks/months later came back and said they were too busy with school. :/ they did post everything eventually but it took a looooong time.
