sorry, "third world" is a racist as fuck term that is no longer used in many academic circles and should not be used in the media either.

it may not have racist origins but it's often used in a very racist way. the very fact that you think there is no reason to be riled up about it and that it's tossed around on meme a lot is very problematic.

anon, it wasn't that which annoyed me. it was the fact that gain said something roughly equivalent to third world in korean, it was translated into english and an anon was getting pressed about that. third world is racist as fuck, i'm definitely not disagreeing with you there, but i'm saying it was silly for anon to get annoyed about that in that context when chances are gain didn't say it or that it meant differently under the context

i have actually seen the thread in question but the way you worded it in this thread didn't convey what you just wrote.

i don't exactly blame that anon either because "mistranslation" is a commonly used excuse by the "oppar/unnir didn't mean it" crowd.

sorry, i get prickly about "third world" because it's used a lot on meme. it was referenced in the "single eyelid" thread as well.
