yeah, they keep calling it frankenstorm or whatever and idk, i thought it'd be a cat 3, maybe a cat 2 by landfall at least. i guess the big danger is that the northern east coasters aren't used to hurricanes like this so infrastructure, safety procedures, etc aren't as prepared? idek
+1 to the last part of your comment. in reply to op, idt it's weird or funny that people are "overreacting" if they've never encountered a hurricane before?
i think the problem is that when you turn on the news or look online, people aren't really talking about the infrastructure or safety plans? it's always on how big the storm is, how strong the storm is, etc, etc so it looks silly to those of us who have dealt with storms before and made it through even if the infrastructure/safety procedures were the cause of that
da but yeah that's my feeling as well, i'm an east coast anon at the moment but i used to live in texas and on the flip side it's like we used to get days off from school for snow days that couldn't have been as bad as anything anybody living on the east coast had to deal with. i was around for katrina and i remember people saying the storm was as big as our state and would be devastating if it hit :\ and it was, just not for us because it veered off eastward
