i got a betabuddy a few months ago and we sort of agreed on that being honest and harsh was the way to go so when she completely picked my fic apart i reciprocated, which i liked bec i think it was very constructive for the both of us. then i didn't hear from her since that first draft of her fic and i even wondered if there was something wrong with my email but i figured she was just busy or something. now i see she has churned out several fics since, + posted the finished (and not really edited) fic that i beta'ed and was supposed to recieve the second draft of... not sure how to interpret this.

yeah, i thought so too. but she went on and on about how she was anal about betaing and that i shouldn't take it personally, and then said she appreciated my honesty. but it's possible it was just words idk

yeah idk. it hit me that if i had just written a few pornshots i wouldn't have bothered her with them, but the fact that she said she'd send me the second draft the next day and i don't hear from her again. i don't actually mind since it took me forever to go through and give tips about her writing but it just feels so odd, all of it.

clear that she obviously wasn't having any of your concrit, is what i gathered from what you said anyway. ofc idk if this person had his/her reason/s but it still sucks they wouldn't even give you the time of the day :/

idky everybody is jumping to the conclusion that she hated your crit or something. maybe she just got distracted and some time passed and she decided to just post the fic? this is how it usually goes with betas for me, you connect once or twice but then you both kind of move on

yeah that is very possible! i won't make any assumptions since i don't actually know her. and if it was really important to me i could just contact her myself lol
