how long does it usually take for anons to complete fic? like, the time between initially coming up with an idea and then finishing it and sharing it?

i swear, it takes me like MONTHS even for something only 1k words :(

it depends on how big the idea is? and how motivated i am to finish it lol, last year i completed two back to back 20k+ projects in the span of a month just because i was on a roll, and occasionally i can pump out something short in one night

then other shit just sits stagnating in my wip folder for like half a year before i muster up the motivation to finish it (if ever)

it depends on how inspired i am, and how much time i have. during school i hardly have time to write so i've barely written in three months or so, but during summer i have a pretty steady pace. i can complete a 3k fic with editing and such in a week if i'm inspired, a day if on a deadline.

that depends. if i get a quick idea, or just want to write something short, i can be done in a couple of hours. (100-1k ish) but things these days often take months, even if it's just a short seoulfulness fill. i also often start thinking of ideas to write long before i actually write them, + i take forever to edit, so... many months D:

i remember last spring i wrote a 20k fic in one month, and iirc correctly i only wrote during the weekends, so in reality i wrote 20k in eight days and idek how i did it. when i was writing longfic this summer i could churn out 3k a day at most, but then i had no classes or work... school sucks up all my energy. D:
