definitely! i love bollywood, the dancing, the drama, everything! and, anon, they were gorgeous throughout the movie. i couldn't stop looking and just gaping, they're both so beautiful.

i grew up in bombay, so bollywood is in my blood. they (and other indian films) always move me emotionally in a way others cannot. maybe because they will always reflect my realities in a way hollywood cannot.

i haven't seen the movie yet. not sure if i want to but i love all the songs. it's a terrific ost.

are you indian? i'm indian too but we moved here, that is to canada, when i was five so i don't remember all that much but we're pretty in touch with what's going on there. i even learnt classical and bollywood dancing because i just adore that kind of music and it's such a feel-good thing, bollywood. like you said, it'll always get to me more than hollywood.

and yeah, it really is! i watched the movie yesterday and it's okay. i'd watch it for deepika because she is flawless and so hot, but otherwise it's a good one-time watch. it's vaguely misogynistic but that's not surprising.

yes, i am. i moved to canada when i was much older (nearly 20) and go back a lot. i'm more indian than canadian, honestly.

i'm just not interested in saif the 40-year-old man-child any more. he can be a good actor when he wants to be but he's been playing the same role for a while now and i'm bored.

i've been trying to watch english-vinglish for the last two weeks but life always intervenes. have you seen it?

oh, anon, we're pretty... alike. i go back occasionally, for weddings and sometimes generally. the indian community here is pretty big and because i've spent the majority of my life here i'm sort of more comfortable here, i guess? but i love going back too.

and anon, that is exactly why i didn't want to watch Cocktail, he gives me the creeps now but bollywood is so reluctant to move on past the uncles. either way, he's alright in it, not as painful as he could have been. it's a good movie to pass time.

i have seen english-vinglish! i thought it was pretty decent but it had some very major flaws. the first half is much better and raises some very valid points. i'm considering watching Student Of The Year because i can't get that one song out of my head!

i guess i'll find the dvd and give it a shot. and ia, there are some pretty decent younger actors out there who also have starpower. give them a shot.

good to know! i'll watch soty on dvd. i'm not a karan johar fan at all and none of the trailers have impressed me. i do enjoy some of the songs though - ratta maar, radha and ishq wala songs.

yeah. but they are getting more and more breaks as time passes? hopefully that trend will catch on.

and i'm probably going to end up watching it at home too. i find the girl really annoying and listless but yes, omg, i love radha. it's been my go to song when i'm drunk for a week or two now.

hopefully. i hope more stage and tv actors get a break too. and srk and saif move on to better-suited roles. salman seems to have found his niche (and i can now ignore him) and aamir is generally pretty good about this tomfoolery.

I LOVE RADHA, it's my fave!!!!

i like SRK though, he's so... charming. i don't want to like him but i just do. and yeah, lmao, salman's stop trying to be serious at all now. he just rakes it in while he can.

i think he's very charming too but i also think he's a better actor than he allows himself to be. he chooses movies that allow him to coast on his charm and i would like to see him try other things. he was flawless in swades.

i wish it was better picturised though :/
