it's such a joy to see them together and happy. the difference in tablo promoting this year and last year is so obvious and i'm glad he's in a good place rn. i know a lot of fans are not thrilled about the new album but i enjoyed it and they seem to have had a blast with it as well.

and obviously there are yge influences since they used a lot of the company's in-house producers, but it's like, do u really think epik high would've put out records that they hated??? give them some credit here u__u

this, exactly this!!! i've seen this argument several times with several groups, including (and maybe especially) bigbang. idg how people think that a group can continue to sound the same or look the same over a number of years. especially groups that are involved in creating their music. as they grow older and experience more things, their music is bound to change. by expecting it not to, you're putting them in a really tiny box. then they're nothing but performing monkeys who're supposed to dance to your tunes.

i had a huge argument with a friend who was mourning the loss of "sad" epik high becuase the new album did not reflect her teenage angst. like wtf!!! it's not their job to be the voice of your angst all the time. they write music that reflects who they are at that point in time.

obviously. the moment you see cpk on an album, it's a sure sign that it's not going to be hip-hop. it's not his style at all. having said that, i think the yge influence is more on their marketing than anything else.

idk what it is because they're like this for 2.5 hours straight. and then they do it again the next night and then the next weekend. their tour has ballooned into a monster. idk how they're standing at this point, especially someone like top who's also filming non-stop in between. but they always seem to enjoy the stage and their band so much.

i've given up on talking about bigbang and this. i'm not interested in lies 5.0 and if you are, too bad because THEY'RE NOT INTERESTED! their old albums are still for sale and their old performances are still around to buy and watch. i was reading a seoulbeats article and most of the comments were "they sold out". how? by making their own music? by taking charge of their albums? by experimenting with styles they're interested in? they do so many genres, especially if you include their solos. sorry, your hipster ass can't deal. you don't have to like their new music but they're not selling out by not making the same music over and over again.

when yb is like this on stage, i can give him a pass. it's the music and the adrenaline. when he's like this during press conferences, i can't stand it. plus, he should just stop dancing. top is clearly the better dancer and lord of the dance. everyone else should follow his lead.

oh man, yeah. for a while i thought hong kong was supposed to be their ~final stop~ or w/e but now the london concert (at wembley arena!!! so proud of them omg) is after it and i read somewhere that they're trying to add dates in japan after the new year?! lmao when is it gonna end??? (not that i want it to, the more international fans that get to see them the better, but also... flying to a new time zone every week can't be fun :|)

i'm so chuffed for them about wembley. if i had more money, i'd fly to london to watch them. i used to live there and miss it so much. and i'm so proud of them and their tour in general. i saw some article that said 450,000 people would've seen them live this year (and this was before wembley). that's the population of a mid-sized us city. that's fucking insane!

but yeah, i love seeing them tour and i think they're geuinely surprised by the response. it's so cool to watch non-koreans sing their songs to them. i want them to keep touring.

the other comment was "their heart is not in it" , which made even less sense. so, you're telling me they're getting more and more invloved bts because they dgaf any more and want to coast? how does that even make sense? i get that people may dislike the change in their musical direction and it's always sad to fall out of love with someone's music but as long as that change is organic to the group, i don't see an issue. people move on. they have. so should you and if that means saying goodbye to them, then so be it.

i honestly don't know what's up with teddy. his work, especially with 2ne1, has been mediocre for the past few years. i'm dreading the new 2ne1 album because kush is not around.

i'm pretty sure he looks the way he does because of ji eun. if it was just him, it'd be 10 times worse. she's a flawless noona who can do little wrong. it's him that's the problem. someone needs to sit him down and school him in how not to be emabarassing.

i think the idea of "selling out" itself is what bothers me the most, and the implications that come with it, because whenever people use that phrase in conjunction with ANYTHING it's invariably associated with the idea that the creative output is now more mainstream/appeals to a wider audience than it did before. which like—wow, there's a reason popular things are popular. i hate music elitists/hipsters who are like oh pop and hip hop isn't ~real music~, because um yeah they are, just because more people like it doesn't mean it's somehow cheaper than anything else. what are they supposed to do, purposely produce music that DOESN'T appeal to a wide audience/sounds bad??? that's so counterintuitive! and like no one exists in a vacuum therefore everything is inspired by other stuff/everything is derivative, so i really don't get it.

obviously experimenting with different sounds and new styles is to be lauded, especially when the product comes out sounding great, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with creating something that a lot of people will find fun and can jam out to :| NOTHING!!! SORRY LMAO i just have a lot of feelings about this ~__~

ugh anyway--the last question they were asked at the taiwan presscon was about other members' solo projects and gd mentioned that yb and daesung were working on stuff for release but THERE WAS NO MENTION OF TOP ASIDE FROM HIM STILL WORKING ON ALUMNUS and he also talked about seungri continuing japan stuff so i'm like WHERE IS TOP'S SOLO ALBUM???? WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR LIKE THREE YEARS AT LEAST can't we have something :'(((

and yes ugh i loooove watching them on stage so much. energy and chemistry and they're all so fluid and comfortable w/ each other and ugh. babies *__* ugh i hope you somehow find a way to go to london and see them!!!

artists/actors sell out all the time and when they do, it's obvious. by which i mean, it's obvious that something was done purely for money. for me that's selling out. not working in a genre that's popular and appeals to a large number of people. there is space within mainstream music to experiment, to be bold, to try new things and there are artists who do that (and tons that don't). just because they didn't do it while playing in their mom's basement or it's not a song about big, important issues doesn't make it any less valid. it's not a crime to make enjoyable music ffs!

i think top is a sneaky bastard who does what he wants. THIS DOES NOT MAKE THE LACK OF A SOLO OKAY BECAUSE WHERE THE FUCK IS YOUR ALBUM TABI??? HOW CAN IT TAKE 5 YEARS??? honestly, i don't think we'll see an album from him any time soon. he takes a while to recover emotionally and mentally after a movie. if he does release an album, we might get something mid next-year. i think with top, we're going to get only one album ever and it'll be flawless from start to finish. because that's simply the way he works. and he's so critical of his work, that i don't think any track will ever be good enough to get on this legenary album of his. i keep hoping gd steps in and says, stop. this is perfect. release it now (or no sex ever).

and while i'm all excited for dae's album and seungri's continuing activiites, i'm all :( for yb's.

da but oh my god i cried at that part. i was super emotional just seeing them together and at that part i couldn't take it anymore and ;_; i missed them so much and this album is so good and i'm just so glad that they're together again and making music idc what label because i've always trusted that they've been able to put out good music and they've never ever ever let me down once.

nayrt but i love, love, love when groups bow mid-performance for some reason. it always gets me. when bigbang did it for chuseok, i flailed like it was going out of style.
