but all people are different. it doesn't have to be a truckload of characterisation. it could easily be the relationships they have with other people that show/shape what kind of person they are. eg maybe they dislike this type of person but feel warmed by another type
i think it all comes down to how limiting those 200 words are, unless the whole drabble is concentrating on a person/relationship. and while ppl are different they are not very different. say they have a short line of dialogue - there's not that many ways to vary that line while still making it sound natural and believable. i do like a good characterization but it's not the first thing i look at, and there's other things more interesting and important to me. :)
