in my case, i only comment if i like the writing and the story. it's nothing personal. but i know that it can feel discouraging to be on the other end :(

oh, ik this and i'm like this too but my fics get a pretty good reception in general but these people has never commented, so idk. i'm not that bothered by it anymore after i got this off my chest :)
