i havent read s&s, but p&p is a really fun romance novel, i think in the same vein? it's written really well and it's not a slight against it to say that it's lighthearted and enjoyable (obvs there are serious themes, but overall the mood is easy to read). it doesnt feel like a romance novel as such when you're reading it, if that makes sense?
on the other hand, i may have been too young at the time to really appreciate jane eyre but i found it very grim, intense and draining to read. It was still good, but much more laborious and dense to work through both textually and emotionally. They're both good books and enjoyable for different reasons, but it depends on what you want
