fandom itself is okay. like i see a bunch of anons on exomeme complain about running into certain types of stans but honestly it's been easy for me to surround myself with level-headed stans. the most headache inducing thing going on rn is lay being too involved with solo stuff vs exo stuff. that's made ot8 more of a thing. but lay stans act like he's superior and above exo. i avoid lay stans ho listen to his bnf translators word as law and ot8ers
another annoying thing is that no activity goes without someone complaining about it or reading into every word they say too much. i guess a good thing about that is that it tells me who to unfollw/mute/block. i like to enjoy exo and their activites as they are and not read too deep and make a ten page analysis of a five word sentence
and ficdom, most bnf writers have moved to bts/other groups like anon above said, but there are still good writers and stories out there - you just have to go search for them. writers dont seem to post much on lj anymore; more aff and ao3. tho ao3 is usually seen as "quality fic" i still have to go through a bit of fic to find a good one. i've found more writers i enjoy on aff. and all the fic exchanges were too much. it was like there was an exchange for everything, but those seem to be slowly closing. for a while it seemed little fic was being produced because everyone was caught up in some exchange
it's not as live as it used to be, but if groups like bb and sj can still have an active fandom with fics being produced then exo definitely still can
