yeah anon ;; i think maybe part of it is that the ficdom for bts has grown away from this? lots of new writers who are entirely new to kfic. also people don't see the backdated works in the tag, it's just hard to get exposure all around.

we're going to be encouraging people to backdate after all the fics are up just to make sure they get seen but we're pretty new to ao3 exchanges and that's not something we even considered when we sent out instructions unfortunately.

oh hello mods! maybe you can start letting people know now? because it is a big exchange and idk if you want all these fics flooding the tag at once, it might be counterintuitive.

a lot of people already have and ime some people don't want to actually? so we felt like it was fine to just throw up a reminder of that option at the end, honestly our main priority rn is making sure we get the last of our fics in (unfortunately the curse of exchange deadline timing has stricken me too so i've been trying to work around school and being sick :c)

honestly i don't think we'll return for another year but if we do now we know! i don't really think ao3 suited our needs but it's where the fandom tides have taken us so i guess we have to adapt.
