if you had to make a list of the best kfic authors, who would be on it? not just currently active good writers, or your favorite writers, but the writers you think are the best in the fandom.
the only fic that left a huge impression on me last year was "we are good". it's difficult for a fanfic to make me feel so much, so yeah. she stands out in my mind.
that fic was so good to me when i read it and then i eagerly went to reread it and realized that everything that i'd glossed over the first time was glaringly obvious and unfortunately kind of ruined all my ~feels~ for the story.
but emotional impact is obviously a huge part of writing, so the fact that i even felt anything in the first place is a testament to that.
idk, it just strikes a special cord in me. i am chinese and reading about my culture from a /fanfic/ makes me feel so much. the writer understood how deeply intertwined people are with their families, and i found that a refreshing change from the usual fanworks. despite all it's flaws (one being that it hovers dangerously close to k-drama territory) this fic still holds a piece of my heart ;~~~~;
