you don't know that for sure. lots of people read without leaving comments. and I notice that when I dump multiple fics in a post rather than one at a time I'm less likely to get comments?
i wonder why that is. it seems like logically more fics should equal more comments. i'd be interested in why someone might choose to comment only if the fic is in a post by itself.
dda i'm def less likely to comment when they're all posted in the same post. it feels like i have to read all of them to comment, even if just one appealed to me (as in group/pairing or w/e). tbh it's weird to me to post several pieces in the same post. even if they're short fics they deserve their own post imo, if nothing else for the sake of neat organization.
otoh i'm starting to suspect that even crossposting several fics at a time seems to generete less comments, even if they all have a post each in my journal. there you'd think that "more fics should equal more comments", but maybe it's the same effect. or it gets too much for ppl to read when it comes in a package like that. or idk. i only multi-post small fics and drabbles anyway and those are less inclined to get comments than more substantial fics.
I just don't want to flood the comm when I crosspost. I have good productive weeks where I might finish 2-3 short fics and since my fandom isn't exo...it means if I post them individually ill be posting on the comm back to back to back. I generally only share post s in my journal if the fics are related tho. like I wrote them for the same challenge or they're prompts from a meme. anything 1500 w plus probably gets its own post regardless.
idk i have a hard time justifying like spur of the moment porn in a bunch of individual posts. even if i get less comments, which isn't a huge priority to me, i assume those fics are more likely to be read in one batch
