also i don't mind if authors get personal to a small degree, but if they give too much information it makes me kind of uncomfortable. like i feel really weird reading a fic that they said is flat-out a biography of their life with their names replaced by k-pop idols, or if they describe in detail how this is about their own self-harm/ED/suicide attempt etc. it's great that this is cathartic for them, but i just can't read something like that or it makes me very uneasy.
what i hate most about this is when they wait until the end to put that, so then i reach the end and go wtf, i just read this author's actual suicide note or a literal representation of their life being ruined by an ED or suicidal thoughts etc. it kind of freaks me out when i figure that out. it's okay if they want to write that but i wish they'd put it at the beginning so i can avoid it.
