for me, the stupidity comes in at the self-insert point. like, oppa does not know they exist and he probably wouldn't like them anyway so it's just rme-worthy to see these middle school girls giving these really long (probably lies) descriptions of themselves and being like "who do you ship me with and how would he propose to me and how many kids do we have!!!"
then for the actual scenarios about like "how would exo react if you did a sexy striptease for them!!!" and then the person in great detail describes the reactions (usually ooc), when the answer is probably "call the police".
like yeah, our idol slash is probably stupid too, even if they actually interact in some form and we have stuff to go by, etc. but it's like anons said above, this is usually middle school or early high school girls in the newbie and/or delusional fan category. i've also seen a lot of them who take these scenarios and self insert shipping wayyy too seriously.
i know people do that with slash shipping too, but these type of things actually break the fourth wall. that's why it seems stupider to me.
what does any of that matter when it's fantasy for the sake of fun and games? just like slash is fantasy for the sake of fun and games? ofc oppar doesn't know i exist that doesn't mean it can be entertaining to fantasize abt him being my boyfriend etc etc. all the things abt them being young delusional fans who take scenarios and self-shipping way too srsly can also and is also, with right, said abt us slash-shippers.
look i see where you're coming from and i'm not personally into scenarios either but i'm so not buying your arguments. and when it comes to shitting on the interests of young girls i'm just like, lets not. let them have their fun. the interests of young girls are always shat on. and there's no reason to be up on some high horse when we're basically the same. it's ok to think that things are silly but i try to remember that my interests are just as silly and irrational as any other
