idk what it is but i can only get as far as planning fic these days. it could be the most detailed plan in the whole damn world but as soon as i try to actually write the fic proper i just give up ;~;

write something totally indulgent that requires no planning? I like to do super short drabbles that accomplish nothing for practice.

can't do it or you haven't tried? force yourself to start something that you don't expect to do anything with or take a long break from writing and see if that will help

i don't like saying "i can't" but honestly i try that all the time, i start new things or just write little sentences or go by whims without pressure or i try to carefully plan out things but nothing ever goes anywhere. i've been thinking of taking a break but it seems to be impossible for me to stop thinking about writing or wanting to write lol u___u

maybe you should try a collab with someone that could be different and it would force you to not have everything planned out

ironic bec i made the ficcollab comment below, and i do think i could benefit from having a partner that could push me out of.. my own brain's limitations, so to speak. but it isn't that i need to have everything planned out, it's simply that i won't be able to think of what to write. even when i plan i take forever to think of things and i still can't plan it out in detail.

GOD SAME HERE idk if it's just the way my brain works but i can't just write off the top of my head. i'd get one sentence in and be unable to go from there. free writing is my nightmare .

ifkr i need to do some amount of planning otherwise i'm gonna sit there asking myself "so what happens next" and i'll be like i dunno???!!??! sometimes i can think of things while i'm actually in front of the doc but most of the staring-at-the-doc time is taken up by trying to think of the """perfect""" word to use and i often loose my momentum and find it hard to continue u____u and i mean even if i have the general picture planned out i still need to figure out details & stuff as i go and i'm like, how do ppl make shit up so easily all the time??!!
