yeah these days i just look at my otp tags, sometimes i branch out into member tags because my otps aren't myungyeol or woogyu so no one writes them, lol.
i don't like listing fave authors because no one is 100% consistent all the time were i like all their fics equally but if i had to choose the closest one in this catagory, it'd be unipala's fics. i love how she characterizes the members, that she writes a variety of pairings yet her characters still sound distinct and that they're very often porny
after that it's andglasslike because myungyeol is my otp and i love how she writes them
can i add the people who write for infinitememe too? because god, some of those fills are perfect
the rest of the authors are ones whose fics i like but wouldn't call them my favourites because of their misses: - deplore for her acting woogyu and dystopian myungyeol - pollutedlungs for her porny stuff - the aff author of that epic tasty twincest fic (it's not infinite per se but it has mentions of them and woollim has a heavy presence) - quartic
i haven't read or liked all of their fics but these are the authors whose works i have consistently enjoyed: 700pm, penny_lane_42, deplore, suzunari, myeongdong, xdenisex
her new hogyu is so promising as well i love how she explores the dynamics between being a member in demand/'relevant' member vs a steady member of infinite and the binds of loyalty wow
it's also the first fic i've read that touches on the woollim/sm issue
very sweet! a little on the predictable side, but it's enjoyable nonetheless. the writing is very good, the author paces the story well (i was worried when i saw 5200w, but none of it felt unnecessary). the way the author brings in other members doesn't feel forced. they actually play roles in the story. my only point of criticism would be the title because i don't think the song does the story justice.
another very good story! this author managed to contain the entire story in under 3000w and yet nothing felt rushed or like something was left out and that is an impressive feat. myungsoo's characterization was thorough and believable, and the writing felt like the slow and fumbling flow of his mind. usually i don't like when authors use parentheses, but in this fic they worked perfectly.
the sentence structure (at least imo) was used to imitate myungsoo's thought process, but i felt like there were moment the sentences could have been simplified a little by using a few less commas and letting some sentences stand on their own. that might just be a personal preference, though, because even if it's a stylistic choice having too many run-on sentences bothers me.
the beginning threw me off because it was a little too much on the cutesy side. the scenes after that were lovely! ending felt a little too corny and slightly rushed, because confessions??? in public??? as idols??? what??? but that's probably because i'm cynical.
this fic was extremely similar to the original. not much was actually remixed beyond that it was han geng's side of the story whereas the original was yesung's. the plot was the same, a lot of the original dialogue was kept. i kind of wish i hadn't gone back and looked at the original because otherwise i would have liked it a little, but i can't really give the author credit when barely any of it was their story.
plus sides, though: i enjoyed the author's writing. the story was well-written and the author deserves credit for that!
ia on both counts. i've come to expect slightly unrealistic things to happen in this kind of cute, fight-then-get-together fics, but you're totally right.
the right was just extremely awkward? there's a good probability that english isn't their first language because the word choice stood out as unnatural in places for a native english speaker. as with #9, this fic also didn't remix or add to the story at all, which was disappointing. i mean, cute premise, but they could have done something more with it considering it wasn't theirs in the first place.
more than the word choice and tense changes I was kind of thrown off by the first paragraph talking about how taemin likes to keep these problems to himself and then immediately complaining the next paragraph. I usually like simple slice of life moment fics but the mood just felt off
the first thing i noticed was that onew's characterization was rather off. not sure if that's the case in the original. you're right, there was an entire chunk of dialogue copied from the original which didn't impress me one bit.
i think i give fics like this a little leeway too, simply because there are /too many/ cutesy fics that are concluded like so and i'm just sad because this fic actually had a lot of potential.
anons thoughts on formatting of fics on lj? i just tried to read a fic on lj where the text is literally 4 words per line it's squished together into what looks like a newspaper column. i'm all for center spacing and neat blocks of text in a smaller size than what it looks like if you don't use any html codes in your post but...4 words per line u__u i can't even style=mine for this ;;
da i've always been curious about her tasty/infinite fic, but i can't bring myself to read any of her things considering the atrocity that was her block b fic e______e
