i've been working on a fic for a really long time and i was almost done, but someone just posted a fic that sounds almost exactly like it :( now i don't want to post mine or people will think i'm copying the other fic.
I know that feeling u______u I've had that happen to me multiple times and it really kills my motivation to finish my fics. One of them is of the same pairing in the exact universe in the exact roles and the writer's also a bnf ;;
you've been hard at work at it, so go ahead and post it! it's no use letting something develop dust once you're finished if you don't want it to
even if the setting or situation happens to be the same, it's still not the same story. it might even be better if you posted it sooner if you're worried about people comparing (esp if it's a longer fic then it obviously shows you haven't copied the other writers idea on a whim)

a fic that dealt with being a first/second gen immigrant well or was one of the focuses ;;; for any fandom! i see it as a side note in a lot of fics and idk i just ;;; want to see it expressed in a creative or poignant way ;;; though ofc it's not to make fun of or belittle anyone's experiences! idk anons i just have lots of sad feelings :c

i like kamen rider o/ i've watched less super sentai shows but i totally get your idea. it'd be so fun to read a super hero fic like that but kinda difficult to write. i haven't seen hurricaneger but i have seen the first half of the other ninja sentai series i forget the name but they use calligraphy pens to henshin
i find it ironic that anon is worried about having a similar fic when i just noticed some one was inspired by a fic i wrote and decided to start write something similar or based off of it or idk kudos to them. but it is a bit creepy how they matched some of the details
awww anon ♥ i think i know who you are ;) i'd love to write something like this but it's very close, you know? it's difficult to remove yourself from your experiences and try to write it into a story without putting too much of yourself into it ;;

- leo, n, and hongbin participated in idol sports; leo hurt himself and tore a ligament/pulled a muscle playing futsal and had to sit out on performing for something like half of their promotions :(

- they had a few events in canada and thailand.
- they've started their international showcase tour as of last weekend, first stop in malaysia, and it looks epic and amazing. leo has also started dancing with them again so all looks good and he seems well healed \o/

well it appears to be a short chaptered thing and i'm kinda eh bc it's not like i own the generic idea bc anyone is welcome to write the same type of story. and they did link people to my story as the inspiration
the creepy thing is that after the first chapter or so they said to read my story first to get the background info and now i'm just like...wut. they are kind of like using my au verse and doing a spin off. that's the best way to describe it. i'm not sure if i should bother to approach the author and be like hey, why didn't you ask first?? why link to my story saying you liked it and then write a spin off without getting my blessing :C

idk if it's fandom specific or a problem everywhere but lately i keep running into fic that really need trigger warnings but do not have them. i get that it might 'ruin' the fic but please, please leave tw for things like abuse and self-harm. just wtf, it is not a good surprise.
do you, omg ;; might i know you as well ;; i do! and it's exactly something so personal that i think you'd /have/ to put something of yourself in it to some extent at least! but yeah i see your point, it's something that if i wrote i could see myself getting sucked into and feeling like i would never be able to approximate my emotions and fully see through my personal point of view.
also i feel like sometimes with something like this, it can a bit of a hit-or-miss with people reading it (either relating or not), and if you've invested so much of yourself into it then it can feel like a reflection on your own experiences and self :c
