it really depends on what the end goal for the group is.

there's plenty of musicians/performers all over the world whose only goal is to be able to perform often enough to feed and house themselves. having number one hits and being a household name is not what they want.

it's not possible for every group to put out a number one hit or even a top ten hit. but as long as their company and them are making enough money to survive then why shouldn't try?

lol but really, all kpop groups' end goal is to make money. it's not about the music at all.

it might be all about the money for the companies but that doesn't mean idols necessarily feel that way

but that's just it. the numbers don't add up for kpop. most companies aren't making a dime and the performers are making even less.

and the more groups that debut, the harder it becomes to make that money.

hence, the race to get to japan but that has proved to be a difficult nut to crack for most groups.
