one can only hope. because if she - who did everything she could, she was NOT out late and she was with a male friend - was not safe, clearly everything women thought was precautionary is a farce. if nothing comes of this, it will be regress, not progress.
iasfm with everything you've said! the fact that women have to take all these measures (like not staying out too late/having a male arnd at all times) to stay safe speaks for how bad this situation already is in delhi, and when even THAT can't ensure your 100% safety :( im glad we're progressing on the economic front but there's hardly any development in terms of human rights issues and something needs to be done abt that
the only progress coming is coming from the economy and the civil society. the government and social structures are still moving at a glacial pace. i am glad that the people are taking the country forward, i have so much hope for our country. but at the same time, in other discourses and areas, there is such an indifference, progress feels like a distant dream.
