demisexuality means you're only sexually attracted to people you have deep emotional connections with and i've never seen anyone claim that label without a whole mess of slut shaming attached to it
i disagree with the vitrolic tumblr discourse that shames asexuals (i agree that heteromantic asexuals don't deal with the same shit queer asexuals do but also i don't ever see anyone talking about queer asexuals and that's a problem right there) and the whole sex-positivity moment (which has been co opted by leftist dudes using it as a way to pressure women into having sex with them) and demisexuals are definitely co opting something that's not really theirs
yeah, i disagree with heteroromantic asexuals trying to claim the queer label for themselves and the whole concept of sexual privilege is a little, well, tryhard? but asexuality is a very underrepresented and misunderstood thing and trying to squeeze yourself under this umbrella makes it really hard to be taken seriously, i guess is what i'm trying to say
not gonna come at you because i agree, people should be able to have as much or as little sex as they desire but pretending like demisexuality isn't just being selective with who you sleep with (which a ton of people are anyway without calling themselves demisexual) is ridiculous
plus the vast majority of demisexuals i see are women which don't even open that can of fucking worms
yeah like there's nothing wrong with not being attracted to strangers but it's so like special snowflake, i'm not like those sluts who have one night stands. i'm sure it's not this way for everyone who calls themselves that but there's this judgment towards other people attached to the label from what i've seen.
because i don't think picking on demisexual people is the right thing to do esp since most demisexual identifiers are women but i do find the concept of demisexuality and how people defend it ridiculous
i don't find you ridiculous, i find the concept of demisexuality ridiculous
look, anon, it's totally fine for you to claim whatever label you want but as the anon above me said i am also perfectly within my right to find the concept of demisexuality ridiculous because that's actually how a vast majority of average, "sexual" people function.
