i want to be a part of anime fandom but i don't even know how to anymore. which is obvious by the fact i'm posting about this here.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-23 06:09 am (UTC)(link)
a ton, but there are a few in particular i want to look into. my problem is more of where to go to find fandom. anime fandom used to be active on livejournal, but i don't think it's the same anymore. where do i find fans? ~___~

myanimelist is pretty great! i'll start working on tumblr more i guess. i don't know why i find this so much harder than kpop.

try ff.net lol, when i was still into animanga most (good) authors in fandoms like DRRR!! crossposted all their stuff there. the volume of crap can be intimidating sometimes but i used to find fics by first finding some authors i liked, then following paths through favourites lists.

and in terms of connecting with the people, authors usually have various social media listed in their profile. even if they didn't, it was easy to make friends by simply leaving (thoughtful) reviews and continuing the conversation. the reviews didn't have to be essays either!

thanks, anon! i figured ff.net would always be a good place to go. and thankfully most of the series i'm interested in aren't huge fandom, so there won't be piles of crap to sort through hopefully. :)

oh, that sure makes searching easier, i gotta tell you. good luck!
