However, this was the very first time in my life that I have truly felt discriminated against. When people were talking about Native Americans, they weren’t thinking of the white, blond haired woman with 1/4 Ojibwa in her. But when people were ignoring me, glaring at me, following me, denying me service, and weren’t welcoming me into their stores or their restaurants, they did it to me. In their eyes, they knew exactly what I was and they didn’t want anything to do with me. Even though I did nothing to them but smile.
