it seems like the opposite for most people, especially on tumblr -- they like more girl groups than guy groups, but when it comes to emotional investment, the guy groups come out on top nine out of ten times. i think that's why there's a lot of girl group fans out there who are only fans of one guy group (shinee or exo, for instance) but that guy group is all they're really fannishly invested in: girls are nice to look at and their music is fun, but they have complex emotions towards that one guy group more than any of the girl groups put together.

another problem, like the anon below said, is that there isn't a good translation team for pretty much any girl group. :( there's a lot of content out there (aoa's selfcams and "trophy's daughters" are my favorites :3), but hardly any of it is translated.

my Korean teacher says if I don't improve my listening skills significantly by the end of April.g she won't let me move forward. so my project for myself next semester is to translate girl group videos. I'm not sure how many ill be able to do but I figure its good practice and I really don't want to be stuck in a lower level class again.

that's really neat! i mean, it sucks about you being in a position where you might not be able to move forward with your studies, but that's a cool way to improve your listening skills!
