if i were going to compile fic resources (not resources for writing fic, but fic itself as a resource for someone getting into a new fandom), would i leave out the shittier fics like i would in a rec journal, or would i include them?

...now let's say my fandom is comparatively short on the fic side and a lot of the fic is mediocre. would i still link them just the good fic, or does mediocre fic deserve a place in there, too?

mmm well is this meant to be a fic resource for a specific friend, or are you doing this as like part of a general pimp post? because if it's the former then maybe just choose fic that you know caters to your friend's interests, even if it might be mediocre? if it's the latter just do what you feel is right bc ofc wrt fic everyone's mileage may vary. you can always include disclaimers in the post if you want?

how do you feel about femslash where one or more participants is under-age, though? :( i'm dealing with fic with, like, krystal and minzy, etc., and i don't know whether to include it, especially if it has sexual content in it, or leave it out even if it's well-written.

makes sense! there are some people who are (rightfully) sensitive to under-age sex in fic who might see this primer, but 99% of the time it's with someone who's very close to them in age anyway, and i think a warning will let them know whether or not they want to read that fic. thanks!

i think if it's handled well and all-around consensual it's okay? but that's just my opinion. i would go ahead and include it, though, but make a note that it does include people who are under-age. that way, if it does bother someone, they can move along and not go into the fic without any heads up!
