da enjoying something that's problematic doesn't mean pretending it never happened. you can acknowledge the issue and critically examine it, while continuing to enjoy whatever the thing is

same da and i think the distinction is to not use those acknowledgements (e.g. 'he's young and a douchebag') as an excuse to then say the behaviour is okay
