Third, it is their parents. It might be hard to understand from western perspective. Filial duty is one of important values in Asia. So the girls knew that their parents sacrificed their life for the sake of the girls’ dream of becoming stars, the girls wanted to compensate their parents for their hard work.

my boyfriend has often asked me why with all of the shitty conditions people would continue to pursue being in these groups and i always spouted off what the director also said, but i'd never thought about this. very eye-opening.

this one was probably less surprising to me bc asian parents/values lol, but i thought it was most interesting about how he said the stylist scolded them more harshly bc she was female and therefore it wouldn't be construed as sexual harassment.

also everything about managers, although after sm's managers...
