i mean, it's not like you're obligated to add anybody and it's your safe space but to say it's "creepy" seems pretty over-dramatic to me. maybe you have mutual friends or they just found your twitter somehow and felt like following you.
maybe creepy was the wrong word to choose, sorry if it struck a cord in you, anon. that is possible but for that to happen, i get the image of them trawling through our mutual friend's twitter and obsessively following tweets, trying to track down people to friend? that's an exaggeration ofc, but i'm probably just paranoid in that respect and that's why i feel like that.
you shouldn't think that way, anon. they probably just thought you were cool based on convos they saw you having with their friends and decided to add you. again, not that you have to let them follow you, but i would hate to think that somebody sees me as a big creeper who has been stalking around just because i sent them a follow request.
idk, that's how unprecedented follow requests seem to me? unless our mutual friend goes, "oh hey! i have this friend who thinks you're really cool and i think you guys would get along!" like that's happened before and i've done that before and that's been fine, but with no warning at all it seems just... strange.
