lol i do it, but sort of as a joke. technically there's nothing stopping aff writers from simply getting an LJ account but lbr there is a whole lot more badfic there than on lj. partially bec that's where the badfic writers find an audience that LJ can't give them. if you, like me, have a very limited time to look for and read fic, principally avoiding aff saves me a lot of time even if there's a possibility i'll miss a few decent fics. then again i read very little and have high standards so i think it's a good system for me

oh yeah it just depends on your standards, but i'd rather read a 50 chapter crazy-ass plot on aff than even some fic from "good" lj authors.
