now i'm reading through wangst and it's confusing because a lot of people have changed their usernames since then so i don't recognize the people who are being namedropped anymore??
i forget where i read it, but an anon posted a link that led to something that gave writing tips, one of which was like - don't make the characters fit the situation, place the characters in a situation and write how you think they would react like idk that was so eye opening for me
as of this moment do anons think that the # of comments reflects how well written the kfa exchange fics were? i haven't read any yet and don't really know where to start
have any anons ever bought a piece of clothing worn by your bias? i saw a girl on tumblr bought chen's history mv sweater and wow that's $55 for a sweater that's just alright looking
anon who wrote the xiuchen during the last part, i'm sorry i wasn't around to appreciate it then, but i really liked it! especially the second half, i am just a sucker for hand-holding and late night heart-to-hearts and wow, i love you a lot? ;; thank you for writing it! you're so lovely~!
lol how come so much fic in this fandom is all written in the same exact style? don't get me wrong, it's NICE, and people do it well, but so few writers have a distinct style. all the middling-to-good writers write in almost the same exact way and it's the writers who do it with almost no flaws that seem to get popular.
i mean, they all start with similar convoluted sentences that are kind of quirky and attention-grabbing ("jinki believes that when jonghyun smiles - and he smiles all the time, when they're onstage or when they're in bed or over breakfast or in the bathroom - it's like a piece of rainbow exploding on the seashore.") or convoluted and exposition-y ("when kibum comes to, they tell him that taemin was there the entire time, holding him and whispering in his ear hyung it's gonna be ok") with over-the-top metaphors thrown in the middle ("jonghyun is yellow sweaters and vibrant jelly beans. minho is a warm winter blanket wrapped around a purring cat, waiting for the summer to disperse.") and brief, vague moments of something approaching action ("they fuck in the sewer drain one night, words of shame and desperation clinging to their tongues.") and then the cleverly heart-warming/heart-wrenching "subtle" last line ("and as jinki walks out into the restless night, clumsy and inelegant, kibum thinks he has never looked as graceful as he does in that moment.")
i'm joking a little, but i hope i'm not the only one who's noticed this? it's not a terrible style or anything, but i think it's why people have said that kpop fandom doesn't have very many "great" writers. it's like everyone's trying to one-up each other on this one style.
jfc just looked up jaejoong in tumblr and god how long has he looked like this? he looks sick? something seems really wrong with his face, like he's not well :c
