(Anonymous) 2012-11-19 05:06 am (UTC)(link)i think it's more straightforward than that. they began it in a way you'd think it was the first time he met her but actually it's him meeting her for the first time since their breakup. he enters the restaurant and reminisces about their time together. he's still not over her which is why he wears the ring but he realises he needs to get over her so he leaves the it on the table. she tries to return it to him but he does to her what she did to him to close the circle
the only thing i don't understand is how she didn't recognize the ring because he kept ducking his head down when she was around him making it possible she couldn't see his face clearly
