So today in class we learned that when the female clown fish dies, the male mate will change its sex and then reproduce with its own children so to keep passing on its genetic material.
I’m guessing that’s why Nemo’s dad wanted to find him so badly.
idg why the dad has to change sex. why cant he just mate with his female children. plus, if he stayed male, he could impregnate more of his children -> more of his genes getting passed on
... you do know that in fish, the bulk of the children comes from the female laying eggs, and not the male fish impregnating one female egg at a time, right? females pass on way more genetic material than the males.
