i wonder how epik high feel about their new album

(Anonymous) 2012-10-20 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
they already had issues with the title song bc yg wanted to push up but epik high themselves chose don't hate me

i just wish they could have stayed with woollim :(

(Anonymous) 2012-10-20 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
they left woolim because tablo felt like woolim wasn't doing anything to help him right? tbh i'm glad he left them, just because of that, but the music difference was...unexpected

idk much about 2ne1 but from the cd version it doesn't sound like bom will be able to pull off the opening live and imo that's the least epik high like song on the album :\ i like don't hate me better, and some of the songs still have the epik high feel lol, but i hope at least they're okay with how different it is

(Anonymous) 2012-10-20 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
woollim isn't a company with money or influence, so there was very little they could do. they couldn't have possibly stopped that dude when the ceo had to sell his house to fund infinite's second album :/ woollim would be a better musical direction for eh because they really give their artists a lot of room

(Anonymous) 2012-10-20 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
idk, money or influence doesn't seem to be a good enough reason to say “We have nothing to say about allegations against Tablo that he had fake education qualifications". that sounds like the worst possible thing to say in that situation

ia about the last part :\

(Anonymous) 2012-10-20 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
yeah i don't disagree that was terrible pr on woollim's part. ig they were just too focused on their first 'proper' group since both eh and nell were transfers from other companies

(Anonymous) 2012-10-20 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
you mean if they like it or not? i mean i'm fairly sure they wouldn't have put anything they hated out but idk maybe i'm wrong

(Anonymous) 2012-10-20 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
yeah i mean that makes the most sense, but i'm curious since it is just really different from before

(Anonymous) 2012-10-20 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
ngl i'm of the opinion that i probably would've been MORE concerned if the album had exactly the same sound as the stuff that they put out before since it's been three years and songwriters, like all other people, aren't static (i.e. bb's sound has changed so much and it's only been six years for them)

anyway ia with what you said above about woollim, i'm really glad tablo at least got out of that environment and is in a better place now! and yeah ia w/ the reservations about bom :\ idk what they'll do about that issue and i'm crossing my fingers and hoping everything turns out alright. but yeah i mean they're still the ones who wrote like 99% of the album (ofc yge producers were brought in which i think might've contributed to a lot of the differences) and i LOVE don't hate me a looot (the song and the mv!) and a lot of the other tracks are really solid imo! then again i'm usually a fan of yge's sound so i'm probably very biased, and i suppose up was the compromise here

ugh haha sorry if i'm coming off as belligerent or anything, i've just been reading far more vitriolic complaints about it all day and i'm so tired of it ~__~

sa

and by "that environment" and "better place" i'm not trying to insinuate anything about woollim's creative environment which i'm sure is more than excellent (i love epik high's early work and nell's stuff a lot), i just mean like you said how they didn't do anything for him re: the tajinyo allegations is just... not great to me lol

(Anonymous) 2012-10-20 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
that's true! maybe they're looking into something different now lol, i guess we'll never know until they say something

so far the only ones i like are Don't Hate Me and New Beautiful. i have never been into any yg artists/songs before, but i'm thinking yg had a pretty big hand in what happened in this album. i love the dhm mv too! you're fine anon, but where are you reading these comments? sounds like something you wouldn't spend too much time on

(Anonymous) 2012-10-20 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
yeah i'm really looking forward to them being on the variety/interview circuit because i want to know everything about their creative process this time around and how they approached the mvs and stuff *__* tell me everythinggg

it's cold actually feels more old-epik-high-y to me? along w/ the two that you mentioned i also really like kill this love and you don't deserve her w/ gaeko just bc i love dynamic duo and it's a rly strong rap track? and i don't mind up aside from bom's rather grating opener, it seems like a nice easy poppy anthem and makes me smile haha. most of the comments i've seen are from tumblr/omona? which yeah i should probably just back away u__u

(Anonymous) 2012-10-20 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
yes! cannot wait. i also want to say that tablo look srsly good in the don't hate me mv unf

funny you say that - i'm listening to it's cold right now! and i'm liking it. anon if you go to omona just stay for the articles and then back tfo lmao. maybe bom's voice just rubs me the wrong way, but i'll save judgment till they perform it live. personally, kill this love is too noisy for me and you don't deserve her is really good to just hear them rap but i'd like some music lol. i'll probably end up warming up to the songs later, just because i have a super soft spot for epik high

(Anonymous) 2012-10-20 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
sell outs

(Anonymous) 2012-10-20 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
i'm getting that feeling lol

(Anonymous) 2012-10-20 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
you mean aside from the fact that they're excited and happy and are having fun experimenting with their sound?

the idea that yg forced them to do anything is really silly. yes, yg plays a role and has influence but that influence is mainly on the marketing of the music than the music itself.
