ugh anons when you have planned to write a fic for so long... but someone writes a similar one first... and they're 10x better than you as a writer... but the fic they wrote is your fucking notp of all notps... kill me please.

lmao this always happens to me. at least i usually haven't started to write the idea, despite being very invested in it and plotting, but once or twice i've thrown out a half-finished fic because of this. considering how little i write, it's awful u___u mourns with you

sometimes i wonder how similar is too similar, and if i can still get away with writing mine... but then always decide not to risk it, lol

i'm afraid people will think i'm copying them/heavily inspired since they're way more well-know than i am. idk i know no one owns the prompt but idt my pride is going to let me do it.

and it's bts i even ended up writing about it here on (dead) btsmeme last july. you should be able to figure out everthing else pretty easily u__u

if you want to write your fic, write it. even if the premise is similar it won't be the same fic

this isn't kpop where a group owns a concept and if you copy it it's called out for 'plagiarism'

if your idea is your own then write it! it doesn't matter if someone else has already written something similar, i mean how many coffeeshop, catboys, college tour guide aus, etc have been recycled over countless fandoms?
