ficmix mod is getting a lot of heat for the really slow posting schedule, but is it really their fault if it's the participants that can't turn their fics in on time?

mte and i say this as someone who had to ask for a double extension and then turned in my fic even after that

as a mod...i sympathize but i also think there's a point where you stop waiting for people and that point should have been a while ago, but that also depends on the number of pinch hitters etc

another mod here and sometimes i find it takes longer to get a pinchhit done than suck it up and wait for someone who keeps telling me their fic is almost done. plus there's quality to consider

yeah it is definitely a balancing act and a lot of time you just have to go with your gut about what kind of participant you're dealing with...quality is also a subjective thing /shrugs

tbh it was slow to start with? i understand waiting on the pinch hits but it still seemed slow. even three a day would've been an improvement.

if there were only four fics left then how does anon "know for fact" that there are "at least" four completed fics when there should've only been 2 fics left by then? something doesn't add up...

actually i made a mistake, i know for a fact they had 3 with them before posting this week started, so i was confused as to why they were only doing one a say. there was no posting yesterday due to "technical difficulties" but i think it's more likely the last person hasn't handed their fic in yet
