but i definitely think my interest in dubcon/noncon stems from my earliest sexual experiences being coercive/not fully consensual, though i don't really think of that as a maladaptive coping mechanism tbh i just kind of roll with it without thinking. this is limited to just fic though.

that's one of mines >< and kind of the reason is the same. except mine is more to being forced into being submissive in the relationship as whole rather than just the sexual side of it. it was my first experience as well.

and just to clarify, what i meant in "life in general" is the consensual participation of my partner in doing those kinks is required and being mentioned clearly.

same here, and i've often wondered if it might be a coping mechanism too but i'm not sure how to tell so i just go with it too. shrugs. if it is a coping mechanism, it's working, so i won't bother questioning it lol
