how important the summary you guys think?

(Anonymous) 2015-07-02 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
if the summary sucks, doesn't sound interesting or doesn't seem like something i would like, i don't read the fic. the summary is my main decision-making factor whether to read a fic or not

i don't think many people would choose to read a fic based on summary alone, the fandom and pairing would be more important

(Anonymous) 2015-07-02 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
idt i even read them half the time

(Anonymous) 2015-07-02 08:54 am (UTC)(link)
if it's more than a sentence long i probably won't read the read. same with an authors note

(Anonymous) 2015-07-02 12:08 pm (UTC)(link)
for kfandom i just go by the pairing rather than summary etc bc more of than not they're terrible

(Anonymous) 2015-07-02 12:35 pm (UTC)(link)
the summary is important but the writer's username, icon, writing style and formatting is important too. i'll prob click on a fic with a short/boring summary if the rest seems interesting. (i think sometimes you can tell more about a fic/writer from HOW they write their summary than what it actually says)

but top priority is fandom and pairing, i don't read fic where i don't care about the characters

da does this mean you'll read almost any fic on ao3 if it has the pairing you like, because the formatting there is all the same

(Anonymous) 2015-07-06 02:41 pm (UTC)(link)
i don't read fic on ao3 lol but if i did, no, because obviously formatting is just one factor?? summary and writing style would say more in this case
