POSTING THE NAMES AND ADDRESSES OF USERS IS A SERIOUS TOS VIOLATION. PLEASE DON'T DO IT

people who complain that __ group doesn't get enough fic, probably don't deserve any
they don't write any
they ignore the people currently writing for that group
they don't support/give feedback to the current writers, which provides less incentive for new writers to join the fandom

being whiny and stuck up just makes it less appealing for writers to write for that group, so stop making things worse dumbasses

i agree to an extent but some groups have no fic at all. so even if i wanted to leave feedback or whatever i couldn't

um ok. it's possible to both complain about wanting more fic while also writing for and commenting on fic for said ficdom tho

also i don't think a couple of comments more or less is going to make people start writing for a new group. comments are great and a great encouragement but if you're not interested in the group, you're probably not going to write for it, and if you are interested in writing a group, at least i would do it anyway, even if comments are scarce and the people are "stuck up". but maybe that's just me.

i get what you're talking about. sometimes i read comments online about this in small fandoms and i know it's mostly people just looking for more fic to read but it's sort of disheartening for the people who have already written fic and plan to write more. i sometimes feel along then lines of, then why can't you contribute too? whining isn't going to make fic magically appear even though we'd all love that

a bit off topic but i feel this way about ships within fandom, too. there's one ship i always see a bnf always complaining about "why doesn't anybody write this?" but it's a ship i've written a few fics for already...

da not to attack you, but i always feel self-centered when that happens. i feel disappointed at first, when i see someone asking for something i've written, like why didn't you read and comment on my fics. but maybe they haven't seen my fics, or maybe they didn't like them, or maybe they have their own reasons for not commenting. idk ig i think it can still be a valid thing to ask for more of something even if it already exists, and it feels weird for me to demand that people have to enjoy and appreciate my take on it.

no i totally get what you mean and i feel the same way, believe me i always think i'm too self-centered lol. i guess i just feel a difference between "there should be more __" (there can always be more) and "why isn't there any __". which tbh is kind of arguing against op's point now

(Anonymous) 2014-07-22 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
da people exaggerate i think that's really the only difference. they don't mean empirically there isn't any nugu1/nugu2 but it's just a stronger way to say it.

aren't they being hyperbolic in phrasing it like that? the two mean pm the same thing

me3 :c i try to turn my disappointment into fuel for fic writing though
