i guess i'm a bit confused, what's the difference between a comment and positive/negative feedback? to me, posting your work in a public arena like lj/dw is an open invitation to feedback of any kind. it's great if it's positive and you learn that someone has enjoyed your writing but if it's constructive crit why is that unwelcome?

would you comment on a fic and tell an author you liked their story or is that not accepted either? sorry for all the questions but i'm genuinely intrigued by your commenting etiquette!
