i think most writers would just like some sort of acknowledgement that the reader enjoyed the story they wrote (so even an 'i liked this writer thank you for sharing it!' is something) because not a lot of people comment.
if you want to really engage the writer or leave a helpful response i like when reviewers point out exactly what they liked (like...i liked character a's characterization or i thought this scene was really funny). and then follow up with some general comments about the story.
if you want to get even more into it you single out a quote or part from a section you liked and explain what you liked about it (ie you wrote this well, i think you really got the point across about character a's dorito's obsession here).
if you want to cross over into extreme intellectual conversation you start commenting about the characters and the plot and ask the writer questions about their decisions while writing the fic but don't put the writer on the defensive (don't be like why did you make character a such an asshole it doesn't make sense with the rest of the plot he's not an asshole in real life wtf). maybe even get into things where you discuss themes you noticed in the story (ie i liked the rise and fall of corruption theme that you have going on in this fic. from where character a started as an asshole bc he was living the high life as a host but the corruption of the job - drugs, sex, alcohol - got to him after an assault, so he turned his back and crawled his way out from the underlife. where'd you get this idea from?)

da and not quite to the extent of your last example but when I read longfics with a lot of plot I pick out points like that to talk about or just to mention that I noticed/liked what the writer was doing? I got told in a comment lately that I noticed a lot in the fic. I wish more comments like this were left for people, with discussion and picking out themes and interesting things like that.
really, as a writer I just like seeing people tell me they read my fic, and they enjoyed it.
I really, really love those comments that might go into a little more detail (quote things, tell me what exactly they liked, why, how I conveyed something etc) but really, most everyone is happy with a simple "I liked this!"

ahh thanks for helping me out anon ;; i came up with some scenes i would like to write in the beginning today so i think i will start writing it a bit and see where i end up

i think about this a lot and i think what would happen is one of the internet friends who had my phone number would text me something dumb, and whoever had my phone post-mortem would say "sry did you know anon's dead?". my friend circle is kind of interconnected so eventually everyone would find out.
you could always give your passwords to someone you're really close to just in case they ever have to post something, but i'm not worried enough about it to do that.
