even better, if they can't find enough people they'll have to eat shit and explain to the recipients that they're not getting a fic because the exchange flopped. or - gasp - write it themselves under their own ridiculous conditions.

this is one thing i hate about exchanges: i always force myself not to drop out even when i really, really should just because i feel bad that i'm getting a fic and giving nothing to the exchange in return. i wish exchanges would contact the drop-out's writer like "hey, your recipient just dropped out, so if you're really struggling on this fic and you want a reassignment we can do that for you." or, one year both my writer and my recipient dropped out and i wished i'd known that so i could just drop out myself without guilt u___u
