i spent the first half of the fic wondering if this was a weekend au and then when i realized it was, i was a bit more critical but i didn't really like it much at all. too much a copy of the movie and its characters (especially wrt baekhyun) and not enough of their real selves in it. it was long but it felt really rushed and drawn out, both at the same time. i've liked a lot of her other fic but i was v. disappointed :(

wait what it's a movie au? i really did adore the idea and the fic but yeah baekhyun's characterization was a whole lot of "huh??? where did that come from"

damn now i'm disappointed :(

yeah! weekend is a fantastic movie, if you liked the idea you should watch it! but note that it ends a little less happy?

there's nothing wrong with movie aus but when you take more cues from the movie characters than the people you're writing about what's the point lol

i'll def check it out, ty anon!

also yes yes that is my exact problem with movie/book aus. i really like it when people use a movie/book as a means of world-building but when you're basically borrowing everything from the source material (+ if if i've seen/read it already) it puts me off :(
