i don't think it's hard not to be overtly racist but there are so many nuances to race and privilege that can be hard to navigate, especially for people who haven't been educated about these things. like the "hijab experiment" anons were mentioning earlier, it's without a doubt racist but i doubt those girls were conscious of the way they were erasing the voices of muslim women.

which doesn't mean that people shouldn't call them out on their shit and they shouldn't be held accountable, just that people with good intentions and unchecked privilege can go about things in totally fucked up ways and be none the wiser.

it's racism, ia, but unintentional racism doesn't have the same weight as actual racism or comments like 'white people ain't ever gonna win with pocs'.
people told her and that was the end of it. it was essentially accidental racism
