sometimes, i think "bad" fic isn't so bad, and then i read lines like "smelling the intoxicating perfume that leaves [her] legs" and want to bash my head against a wall.

what is it about sex that so many people get so very, very wrong? is it because sex is intrinsically unique to everyone and it's hard to write about consistently well, for varying definitions of the term "well"? does it even have anything to do with sex, or do only "bad" fic writers write about sex? how can i include fic like this in a rec (more like compilation, as they're not personal recs but more of a masterlist of kfemslash) journal when almost everyone's going to "x" out of the tab when they read that line? :(
