idk it seems to me that it's a vicious cycle being perpetuated? rp-ers don't want to go to au because they think it won't last long, so people just keep dropping out and things. there's a new au up and the mod looks competent and dedicated (compared to the last what, ten new communities) so i'm really hoping that things take a turn for the better. ;_; i love au so much and its reputation for being 'worse' than non-au pains me, because some of these au rp-ers are just brilliant.

sob anon i'm not sure i have a strong enough muse anymore and i'm so used to the short action rp (anon from above) that i tried to get into more prose based again after AND IT WAS THE WORST AHHH and i agree, some of the best rpers i've come across have been in au rps ):

i've still come across plenty of rp-ers who enjoy action-style rp but. ;A; i'm sorry to hear that anon. i sometimes struggle, switching between both, but i take it as writing exercises of sorts.

just, i really want au rp to come alive again. T_T

it just feels that way compared to most of the communities that opened this year. :/ everything checks out (grammar, details) and the mod is prompt in answering holds/apps/questions. it's not like one of those communities where the mod is solely focused on prettying everything up but leaves the infrastructure flimsy (which describes... 90% of this year's new au communities tbh). and i guess they also get plus points for small details like requiring apps to be posted in comment form instead of scribbld, because that site can't be accessed in countries like korea, singapore, and the philippines.
