if your fic doesn't meet the minimum requirements for acceptability (which admittedly are lax; mostly i'm just looking to see if it's readable), then i'm going to have to drop you from the exchange. but the honor system means i don't know who you are and won't be able to tell if you don't have a beta unless it's obvious, so keep on trucking, i guess?

what? no, i don't even categorize writers into "goodfic" and "badfic." i just think it's a good idea for a beta to check over your fic so that it's readable, but if anons are upset by that rule, i will take that into account for the next exchange.

i don't mean in terms of quality, i mean in terms of literally being able to read the fic instead of stopping every five seconds because of atrocious grammar. i don't anticipate that being an issue, which is why i was operating off of an honor system. i'm sorry if this has caused any issues for you.

+1, i'm not involved in the exchange but i've never had anything betad and likely never will. i run my stories past friends just to get second opinions on stuff like plot and characterization, but for prose stuff? no. i don't need one.
