i did close them a little early, so if you still want to sign up (though why wait until the last minute? genuinely curious, not trying to be rude), then sign up and i will make sure to match you with someone.

i am very sorry; i feel all weird and panicky now because it was a stupid mistake and i turned at least one participant away because of it and my unprofessional attitude. but you're not obligated to believe me and i haven't given you reason to.

why would you close sign ups early? esp without making an annoucement on the info and sign up post?

because i seriously wasn't anticipating any more sign ups, especially so close to the deadline, but it was an error in judgement and something that even a rookie mod shouldn't do, so i will reopen sign-ups and match late entries the best that i can, even if it includes contacting pinch-hitters or writing fic myself. it was a stupid mistake and i'm very, very sorry for it, and understand if it reflects poorly on myself and the exchange.

da but they had a week to sign up. a whole week. why would they wait until the last minute anyway?

it's my fault, please don't try to defend my mistake. it doesn't matter whether they sign up at the last minute, i still shouldn't have closed sign ups.

there are actually millions and millions of reasons why someone wouldn't be able to and anon already said they weren't comfortable sharing

they're probably not comfortable sharing because they waited until the last minute and now they didn't get to participate and they're butthurt.

please stop. it was my fault and you're blaming someone who doesn't deserve the blame.
