prompt: good morning kisses

In the mornings, Sunggyu wakes first. He lies in bed for longer than he should, justifying himself with the excuse that he's locked in a trap between the wall and the immovable mass of Dongwoo's body. He lies and stares at the ceiling, at himself, at Dongwoo's gaping, drooling, decidedly unglamorous mouth on the pillows beside him. Disgusting, he thinks, I can't believe I kiss that mouth. And yet, as soon as Dongwoo's eyes blink open and his lips curl into a smile and his face lights up with wakefulness, Sunggyu can't help but want to kiss him again.

Hyukjae usually wakes up first and manages to sneak in a kiss before he has to rush out the door, Sungmin's only reply a barely decipherable murmur and falling back asleep. This time, though, Sungmin opens his eyes, disgruntled, and says, "Your breath smells almost as much as your feet."

Hyukjae freezes before he pouts and makes to get off the bed, already reaching for his shirt and wondering how his boyfriend could be such an asshole before Sungmin reaches for his arm.

"I'm kidding," Sungmin says, and the smile is enough to melt Hyukjae's heart. "Now give me a proper kiss."

The tip of Kibum's nose is very red. Red enough to catch Jinki's attention first thing in the morning, red enough to make him believe something is brewing under all that unhappy skin. He crawls closer, inspects it. It could be a cold, which isn't very nice because Kibum hates cold. Jinki hovers over the offending area and plants a soft kiss on it, the way his mother used to anywhere he got hurt as a child.

Kibum stirs when Jinki's too-long hair tickles his cheeks and he pulls Jinki down for a kiss, morning breath and all. Kibum laughs when Jinki explains why he had been so close in the first place. Childhood charms don't work and Jinki doesn't care, thought it would be cute anyway. Kibum tugs his hair and calls him an idiot, and they both have a cold the next day.

aww this was adorable

seohyun regards hygiene highly and jessica, being all olfactory, thinks there is nothing more repulsive than morning breath. seohyun can live without morning kisses altogether, but jessica is more needy than that.

most of the time jessica is lazy and forgets to brush her teeth, and seohyun doesn't remember it's just not that important to her.

though on the rare occasion, they compromise and kiss with closed mouths and fresh mint on their breath.

it's not routine, like the 8am wakeup alarm that pulls both of them from their sleep or the way the sun streams into the room if they decide to sleep in for another thirty minutes. it's not even occasional, like the way sungyeol offers to make them breakfast (pancakes! it's always pancakes when it comes to sungyeol) and ends up with flour on his nose and a charred mess in the pan or the way myungsoo stirs before the alarm goes off and he just stares at sungyeol, sometimes counting his eyelashes, other times his breaths, until sungyeol stirs and calls him a creep.

but sometimes, just sometimes, myungsoo wakes up to sungyeol's lips pressed to his and when he opens his eyes, sungyeol is staring back at him, eyes still soft with sleep and myungsoo knows then that this will be a good morning.

When Minho is tucked under the blanket and is still a little drunk from the fifth round of soju, and the moon is too bright in the bedroom window for him to fall asleep, he closes his eyes and thinks about everybody he's ever kissed.

He remembers an elementary school girl with big eyes and snap-on earrings and the chaste way her lips had brushed his cheek, and how he could tell that they were chapped. He remembers how, in the eighth grade, he could smell Sunyoung's lipgloss before she even started to lean in: chemical strawberries. She pressed her lips too hard against his, and he bruised often. Yuri had been his high school girlfriend, and Minho could never tell if she liked kissing him. She would sigh, and grab his shoulder roughly, and Minho always closed his eyes so he never knew if she closed hers too--but he suspected she didn't.

Minho doesn't remember falling asleep, but when he wakes up there's a cold foot wedged in between his own and his neck is cushioned by an arm. He feels Jonghyun's breath in his ear. He can tell Jonghyun is awake because he can tell the difference between Jonghyun's sleep breathing and awake breathing. This is too fast, and the rhythm is uneven because Jonghyun is thinking too hard about it.

"When did you get home?" Minho asks, without turning his head. The arm underneath him goes stiff for a moment, as Jonghyun realizes he is caught.

"About an hour ago. We practiced the new song so much, I think my fingers are bleeding."

"So late."

"You signed up for this," Jonghyun says. He pulls his arm out from under Minho and shifts until his head is resting on Minho's chest. He looks up at Minho, his eyes a little red but shining. "When you agreed to date an indie pop sensation."

Jonghyun kisses him then, trapping Minho between his arms. Jonghyun's mouth is eager and slow and Minho thinks that even when they're over, these are the kisses that will keep him up at night.
