i am supremely surprised that this an issue at all

if you know you're okay with the mechanics of writing (grammar, spelling, etc) then keep it to yourself that you won't need a beta. if you know you struggle with it, then find one and then hand it in. mod won't be able to tell and when you bring it up it just makes it seem really... weird.
